SocialWeb

How the internet was meant to be used.

What that means

Three promises, in plain terms.

Everything in one place

Most people use separate apps to message friends, read updates, search the web, and follow the people or topics they care about. SocialWeb brings all of that into one simple place. One app, one login, and one cleaner way to stay connected online without bouncing between platforms that track your behavior, push ads, and decide what you should see.

A price that makes sense

SocialWeb is built around a simple idea: people should not have to choose between overpaying for privacy or giving up their data for a “free” app. We keep the price low so more people can use a better version of the internet without feeling locked into another expensive subscription.

Built for people, not profit

SocialWeb is not built around ads, engagement traps, or algorithms designed to keep you scrolling. You choose what you follow, what you read, and how you connect. That promise is backed by low pricing, open standards, no ad-based business model, and the option to host your own server. SocialWeb gives people a more honest way to use the internet, where the user comes first.

What SocialWeb does

Three things, done well.

Read, message, and browse. Each one private by design.

Read

Direct subscriptions, chronological order, no ranking. You choose the sources, topics, and conversations you want to see, not an algorithm. Group feeds into stacks like sports, tech, or finance, or read everything in one place. Mute any word, topic, person, or phrase, and it disappears from your feed and stacks until you choose to turn it back on.

Message

An RSS-based group chat, encrypted in transit and at rest, where your data lives on a server you choose, yours or ours. One person creates the chat, and everyone else joins by subscribing to it. No data selling, no hidden tracking, and no platform owning your private conversations. Private by protocol, not just by policy.

Browse

Web search routed through SocialWeb's servers so search providers never see you. Same results, none of the tracking. Available on every tier.

How it works

Privacy is built into the structure.

SocialWeb is built on open, decentralized infrastructure that reduces tracking at the system level. Your feeds are fetched for you, and your searches are routed through SocialWeb instead of exposing your device directly to search providers. Your conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest and live on a server you choose, either your own or ours, instead of being controlled by a corporate platform. The goal is simple: less tracking, more control, and privacy that comes from how the product works, not just what the policy says.

SocialWeb architecture: RSS publishers and web on the left, SocialWeb server in the middle acting as a privacy layer, your device on the right. Who it’s for

For people who want everything in one place without tracking, algorithms, or data collection.

Privacy-conscious professionals

You share sensitive work online. You'd rather not fund a data broker doing it.

Attention-sensitive readers

You set the feed length. When you're done, you're done. No infinite scroll waiting to pull you back.

Data sovereignty advocates

Self-host it. Your server, your data, your terms.

A better way to use the internet.
